Opoka CIO – charity – since 2025
The Brief
Opoka CIO supports people affected by domestic abuse and other vulnerable groups across United Kingdom with HQ in Bristol. The brief was to help the charity communicate its mission more clearly, consistently and sensitively across digital channels — particularly on social media — while working within the realities of a small charity team and limited internal resources.
Our involvement focused on pro bono social media management, alongside selected ad hoc administrative and campaign support. The aim was to increase awareness of Opoka’s services, support fundraising and awareness campaigns, and help the organisation reach people who may need support or wish to get involved.

Logo
One of the key elements of the project was the redesign of Opoka’s logo and visual identity. The previous logo no longer aligned with the organisation’s evolved mission and tone. We created a new, modern symbol that reflects protection, care, empowerment and growth, while remaining warm, human and approachable.
Alongside the new logo, we developed the slogan:
Protect. Empower. Thrive.
This phrase captures Opoka’s purpose clearly and positively — focusing not only on safety, but also on recovery, strength and long-term wellbeing. The refreshed identity works consistently across digital and print formats, improving recognition and trust while remaining sensitive to the charity’s work.

Graphic Design and Print
As part of the rebrand, we developed a full set of practical printed and digital materials to support Opoka’s day-to-day work, outreach and fundraising activities.
These included:
- branded email footers to ensure consistent communication across the organisation
- C-fold information leaflets explaining Opoka’s services in a clear and accessible way
- ID cards for staff and volunteers, supporting professionalism and safeguarding
- posters in both English and Polish to reach a wider local audience
- roll-up banners for events, outreach and community spaces
All materials were designed to be warm, clear and reassuring, while remaining easy to use and update by a small charity team. Particular care was taken with language, imagery and layout to ensure the content was sensitive, inclusive and suitable for people seeking support.
The new designs helped Opoka present a more confident, consistent and recognisable presence across both physical spaces and digital communication.
Social Media
We supported Opoka CIO with ongoing social media activity across Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, helping the charity communicate consistently, sensitively and clearly with different audiences.
Our work focused on:
- explaining Opoka’s services in an accessible and supportive way
- raising awareness of domestic abuse and available help
- supporting campaigns, fundraising initiatives and community outreach
- ensuring messaging was culturally sensitive and appropriate for people in crisis
In addition to day-to-day content planning and publishing, we also supported Opoka with AI-generated TikTok content. This allowed the charity to experiment with short-form video in a low-pressure, resource-efficient way, helping them reach new audiences while staying within the limits of a small internal team.
Throughout the process, we worked closely with Opoka to ensure tone, language and visuals were always aligned with their mission — protecting dignity, building trust and encouraging people to seek help when they need it.
Website
We fully redesigned Opoka CIO’s website, transforming it into a clear, supportive and practical information hub for both people seeking help and professionals working with vulnerable individuals.
The new website was designed to balance sensitivity with clarity, making it easier for users to find the right information quickly — whether they are experiencing domestic abuse themselves or supporting someone else.
Key features of the website include:
- clear guidance and service information for victims and survivors
- dedicated sections for professionals and partner organisations
- a secure referral form to support professional referrals
- multilingual content to better serve Opoka’s diverse community
- a team section to build trust and transparency
- a blog to support awareness campaigns, updates and educational content
The website now acts as a central digital platform for Opoka – supporting service delivery, improving accessibility, and strengthening communication with both the community and professional stakeholders.
